The Empowering Affects of Fashion

Updated: Apr 29, 2024

“It is not about the dress you wear, it is about the life you lead in the dress – Diana Vrecland.”

Over the years, women empowerment has been a very controversial topic, and a lot of women have started to take control of their lives and make their own choices, especially in their various fields and personal life;decisions, politics, fashion, legal, finance, medicine, rights and more. You just have to take it one step at a time. Women should have the freedom to love themselves and create an image they want. Fashion is a means to do that.Having a choice to choose the clothes you want to wear and do so confidently.

The goal of this blog is to empower women, making them feel good about themselves, and a journey to becoming a confidently M.A.D.E. woman by living Marvelous All Day Everyday. A woman should be in love with being a woman. Diane Von Fierstenberg said; “I design for the woman who loves being a woman.” Combining fashion and empowerment almost seems impossible. A beautiful woman can save a life, win awards, be smart, intelligent and yet classy and fashionable. Whoever says women cannot have both is wrong. As much as we find it difficult to harmonize the two, it is definitely possible. A glamorous woman can change the world.

All women have a choice now. Our capabilities are unlimited. Women who made it happen in the past are said to be tough. Even though that may be true, it is also true that any woman can leave an impact in the world if she is determined to. A woman can be strong, tough, powerful, beautiful, smart and intelligent, but still remain feminine. You do not have to be one without the other. She can achieve all of that greatness and do it wearing classy heels. “Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world – Marilyn Monroe.”

A woman can create her own style if she wants and have her own signature look if that makes her feel empowered and confident. You can be creative and dress the way you love. An illustration can be comparing fashion to be a pattern of democracy as opposed to it being dictatorial. “In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different – Coco Chanel.”

Through fashion, you can create the confidence you didn’t have. Whether you’re fat, thin, small, big, black or white, fashion is an avenue to be you. You are beautiful no matter how you are. Be confident in your own skin and your own body. Hubert de Givenchy said; “the dress must follow the body of the woman, not the body following the shape of the dress.”

Women are naturally mature and smart. We have all the resources at our fingertips to be who we want to be. Our only value should not be beauty, shape, and youth. We should feel confident enough to go out and get what we want, and do it in style.

Women can be expressive with their style of dressing. In the past, women wear revealing clothes to advocate feminism. It is not a means to invite or consent to harassment. A woman has her freedom to wear what she wants and feel sexy doing that. It does not warrant any form of oppression from men. A lot of celebrities these days wear clothes that they feel comfortable in, and a lot of people shame them for doing so, or say something very derogatory about their style just to make them feel less confident about themselves. Fashion is confidence.

A woman can also be modest, but do so fashionably. There are lots of religious people that can be emulated based on their dressing and style. They are power women and still very respected with their modesty. You can make your own rules, choose the length of your clothes, and still look very stylish doing so. Fashion is power. Use it well.

By being a confidently M.A.D.E. woman, your dressing can be powerful without it being flashy. After all, you can never go wrong with black. The most important thing is expressing yourself through your choice of fashion, being happy with your style and confident about it. Happiness is the secret to beauty. “There is no beauty that is attractive without happiness – Christian Dior.”

Wearing clothes can make a statement to people. Weather we are wearing a very classy dress, or a casual tee shirt or even sweatpants, a statement is made. We can communicate through these clothes. It is a form of expression. You can communicate to the world and they can know what you feel from your clothes.

Women who sometimes don’t feel too good about themselves at some certain point prefer to boost their confidence through fashion. It can make you feel a whole lot better; from combing colors in your wardrobe, or wearing that go to outfit that makes you feel beautiful. You can also combine various outfits together and change your style by going out of your normal wears and doing something different.

In conclusion, fashion has a way of making a woman feel bold, confident and beautiful. Imagine wearing a designer dress and looking striking in it, you automatically feel like you can conquer the world and feel Marvelous All Day Everyday. Making the choice to love you and put you first is a start. As a woman, you can feel empowered by gaining confidence and living that life you always wanted to live. You don’t even have to go all out or change your dress; just a change in shoes can change your state of mind and make you feel different. It all starts with you. ”Shoes transform your body language and attitude. They lift you physically and emotionally – Christian Loubotin.”
